Application Process for International Students

COLLÈGE BOURGET RIGAUD, QUÉBEC, CANADA

Thank you for your interest in collège Bourget. The College is a private primary and secondary school. In order to expedite the application process, it is very important that you follow carefully each of the following steps.

When you ask for information, you will be sent the following documents :

• description of collège Bourget (general information);
• costs for a complete school year;
• forms to start the admission process:
  • student identification;
  • forms to fill out by the student and his parents;
  • letter of reference from the student's current school.

You can print the application forms.

Stage no. 1
Return the following documents by fax or email and send the originals by mail :

• admission forms filled out;
  
• birth certificate;
• last year's final report card as well as this year's most recent report card;
• non-refundable admission fees.

Stage no. 2
When the school receives and reviews all of the above documents, a decision will be cummunicated to you as soon as possible.

If the school accepts your application, you will also be sent by DHL or Purolator the following documents which you should read, complete, and return as soon as possible :

• acceptation letter ;
• pink card for registration;
• salmon sheet for the Ministry of Education of Québec;
• authorization to publish the student's name and address in our telephone book;
• the medical forms;
• educational services contract;
• the social code and the sheet of engagement;
• documents needed to obtain the Quebec Acceptation Certificate.

Stage no. 3
You must complete, sign, and return all the documents as soon as possible by DHL or Purolator.

Stage no. 4

To study in Québec, first you must acquire a certificate of acceptance for Québec (CAQ) and since February 2005, all document must be sent to the Québec Immigration's office in Montréal.

On reception of your documents, the College will proceed for the CAQ for the student.

When we receive the certificate of acceptance from Québec, we immediately send it to you and you will be able to go to the Canadian embassy who is studying your case.

To enable minors to study in Canada, their parents must obtain a student visa from The Canadian government. They should contact the Canadian embassy closest to their residence (or country). The embassy staff will emit this indispensable document.

Collège Bourget cannot undertake this request at Immigration Canada for you because you must obtain a student visa before arriving in Canada. Therefore you should foresee a delay of several weeks.
