At Collège Bourget, we wish to welcome students with diverse profiles who will thrive in our environment and actively contribute to our school community. We place great importance on the diversity of interests, talents and personalities that make up our community.

Each application is first reviewed to determine whether the student meets our admission requirements. The application is assessed based on report card grades and comments, as well as the elements presented in the video, including French-language proficiency, motivation and attitude, the relevance of the topics discussed, and the student’s ability to express their personality and interests.

When the number of eligible applicants exceeds the number of available places, the College must establish priorities among eligible applications. The following criteria are then considered, in the order presented:

1. Children of Employees

Priority is given to applications from children of Collège Bourget staff members.

2. Siblings

Priority is given to applications from students who have a brother or sister already attending Collège Bourget.

3. Children of former students

Priority is given to applications from students whose parent attended Collège Bourget.

4. Athletic Recruitment

As part of certain athletic programs, the College reserves a limited number of places for student-athletes in order to build teams and support the development of its programs.

These reserved places do not constitute an exemption from the admission requirements. Student-athletes must meet all admission requirements applicable to all applicants. Their academic record, attitude, motivation and other elements of their application are therefore also assessed.

5. Interest in a Passion Program

As we wish to welcome students who actively participate in their school community, particular consideration is given to applications from students who demonstrate an interest in one of the Passion Programs offered at the College, whether cultural or athletic.

6. Overall Assessment of Applications

The criteria presented above allow the College to establish priorities when the number of eligible applications exceeds the number of available places. However, they do not constitute a mathematical formula for allocating places.

7. Each eligible application is reviewed in its entirety

Each eligible application is assessed as a whole, taking into consideration the number of available places, the characteristics of the cohorts to be formed, and the College’s ability to welcome the student into an environment conducive to their success and personal development.

The College therefore reserves the right to consider all relevant information contained in an application when making its admission decision.

Before beginning the application process, please ensure that you scan the documents listed below in PDF format. Photographs of documents will not be accepted.

The application must include:

1. The online application form.
2. The first progress report of the 2026–2027 school year, as soon as it is received in October. You may submit your application before receiving it and provide it at a later date.
3. Copies of the 2024–2025 and 2025–2026 report cards.
4. A copy of the diagnostic assessment report and Individualized Education Plan (IEP), if applicable.
5. A $50 non-refundable fee, payable by credit card, will be required when completing the application form.
6. A video approximately 2 minutes in length, in French.

The video should be approximately 2 minutes long and must be recorded in French.

Above all, we want to discover the student as they truly are. There is no need to produce a professional video, create an elaborate edit or prepare a staged presentation. A simple video recorded with a smartphone is sufficient. Only the content of the video will be evaluated.

We encourage a natural, spontaneous and personal presentation. Students may prepare in advance, but we encourage them to avoid reading from a prepared text or answering the questions in an “interview” or “question-and-answer” format. The goal is to allow students to express themselves freely and give us an authentic glimpse into their personality, interests and motivations.

The video must include:

A brief introduction

• Student’s first and last name and age.

Answers to the following questions:

1. Why would you like to attend Collège Bourget?

2. What do you enjoy doing in your free time outside of school hours?

3. What are the three most important things we should know about you?

4. What would you like to participate in or get involved with at Collège Bourget?

This last question gives students an opportunity to tell us about their interests and how they would like to contribute to life at the College. This may include sports, the arts, culture, student life, projects, activities, a Passion Program, or any other area that interests them.

Students must also answer ONE of the following questions:

• What motivates you to succeed at school?
• Tell us about a project or activity you completed that you are proud of.
• What are your strengths and challenges?
• Tell us about a recent situation at school where you encountered a difficulty and explain how you handled it.
